I acquired a lathe just afore the lockdown so I've been watching LOADS of videos on youtube, some good, some inspirational and others time I'll never get back. For a beginner, I think this has to be one of the best to watch. The guy is clearly an experienced turner but he shows very clearly how he uses each tool and why, something that's often missing from other videos. I've watched this three times back-to-back and consider it time well spent. I know I will watch it again.

I googled the guy to see if I could find any more of his videos. Sadly, it seems he passed away last year.

Ray Keys was a very talented turner and is missed in turning circles. Some other videos worth watching are the ones done by Stuart Batty HERE is just one

That was most useful, I'd sensed my positioning wasn't right but had yet to find one on the subject.

Is well worth getting - the newer editions come with a DVD. Hunt around for 2nd hand prices.
The forum has shortened the link.
These use to be available for less than £3 but it seems forum members have been buying them all up so they have gone up to just under £8 + £2.90 p&p
