Since the 21st of last month have been busy making some turned stuff for a rally I am going to. I have also done another rally and had to do the garden.
C&C most welcome.

Ash tea lights

Cherry bowl with spirit stain

Chestnut bowl

Sapele bowl

Spalted beech

Chestnut ring bowl

Cherry tea light holder or ring bowl depending what takes your fancy

Ash Box

All good stuff, the cherry bowl is my favourite as well.

Dalboy, where do you get the glass inserts from; they look like just the sort of thing I've been looking for.

Thank you both.

The Blue stained bowl is 4 1/2" by 2"

It is stained with royal blue spirit stain after shaping the outside and before turning the rim and inside. The whole thing was given coat of sander sealer and then finished with melamine lacquer both sealer and lacquer where fine sanded between coats and one dry I used T-Cut for cars on it which brought up the glossy look. You could use burnishing cream which does the same thing. The grain must be well sealed otherwise the T-cut/Burnishing cream will fill any imperfections and show up white as can be seen by the spot near the base in the bottom photo of the two (I have since then sorted that out).
When finished the grain is still visible through the stain.
Hope this covers what you wanted to know Nev

The tea light glass inserts are from Wilkinsons I brought them last Christmas I can't see them on their website but it is worth popping into the store (If you have one close) as not everything seems to be on the site.

Another good source of tea light holders and candles is Ikea. The Swedish love their candles! There's one in Milton Keynes.

Many thanks for the tealight holder shops. There's a Wilkinson just up the road from me; if they don't have any, looks like a trip to MK.
