After trying many different sorts of BBQ cover, I am yet to find something I am happy with. They are either too small, too big or too cumbersome. I thought about getting some Tarpualin and making a thin wooden frame and tacking the tarpaulin to it and then just slide it over the top.

Anyone else have a good solution?

My BBQ is rather large at roughly w150cm x d60cm x h100cm

An alternative would be to make a wooden frame out of timber that has good weather resistant properties (such as iroko) and cover it with acrylic sheeting. Or use a wood that matches the lovely decking you made.

I have an outback bbq, with a nice black cover, about the size you have,

which looks much nicer than a blue tarpaulin cover

You want something that will complement your decking not disract from it

I've got an OMC Broil King BBQ, for which I bought their cover. It's really good quality - designed for Canadian winters - and fits it perfectly.
Have a look here and scroll down for the right size. £40 is good value IMHO
