Bathroom worktop

I am in the process of fitting a new bathroom and my wife wants to have a mosaic worktop ( I know they are difficult to keep clean but thats her job) Would 18mm ply be ok with a suitable wood edging, ideas and comments appreciated.

What sort of framework/carcases are you fixing it to. You will be better off with a product that won't move with changes in humidiy. Go for either two layers of tilebacker board such as aquapanel or one layer of thicker Wedi board.

If its part of a cabinet then cover the top of the cabinet with tilebacker board and tile onto that, just like this

Jason, its going ontop of a 800 base unit but I do think its going to get really dirty. My wife will still want it though so I have a strange feeling that I may be replacing it some time in the future.. what are weekends certainly not sitting with your feet up
