You think that's weird? We have a set at work which has - I kid you not - one which must be about 16mm across flat-to-flat. You could bludgeon someone to death with that thing! I'm pretty sure I've never seen a hex bolt with a recess that large!

At a guess the front wheel spindle on my motorbike has a recess about that large.

My front wheel spindle (Kawasaki) is 17mm on one side and 22mm on the other, it took years of car boots to find a 22mm one, then 2 on the same day!
