I'm looking at the Fox Bandsaw F28-194B as I want one with a bit more power than my Clark bandsaw (350wt) the fox is 2hp , but can't find any reviews on it , can anyone shed any light on it ?

I had the smaller fox bandsaw, and after a year of trying to make it work properly got rid of it and swore I would never buy another of their products.
Maybe someone else has better experiences.
I replaced it with the axminster 350N and so far (only 2 months) am very happy with it.

Looks very similar to a Record BS350, I would take the Record any day over the Fox on the basis of service, reputation and warranty

+2 Record..I recently looked at buying a bandsaw and got tempted by Charnwood, (they were on display in the showroom)...but went to a "show" which had Charnwood and Record on display....and I must admit I thought that the Record stuff generally was of better quality than Charnwood..and if you can find a show then they offer some good discounts....

Had an Axminister 350n for several years, no problems, and cuts anything I've tried swiftly and accurately with a Tuffsaw's blade.

I've always thought that for 99% of the work that 99% of amateurs (like myself) look to do, an old Startrite 352 is the perfect bandsaw. There are loads coming up for sale all the time, they are built superbly and generally cost less than any of the new bandsaws mentioned so far in this thread. It might not be all new and shiny when you first get it in your garage but that shininess will soon wear off the new tool and what you will be left with is the underlying quality - that is exactly where the Startrite shines through. The used market isn't for everyone but please do give it some thought!

If you go the used route, please be aware that the 5 year Record guarantee is not transferable.

1.2.8 the Product has been purchased by you as the guarantee is not
transferable from a private sale.

My 352 is about 40 years old so well out of warranty anyway! Still bullet proof and works a treat though.

Spot on. Most modern bandsaws aimed at amateur or even semi pro use can't match a decent used Startrite and you'll save money as well. Spares are also still available so don't let anything like that put you off.
