I have been reading up on bandsaws and understand that the thickness of the tyre on wheels of a bandsaw can vary in thickness.

Variation can be from 1/8" to 1/4" and would like to know if there has been any reviews on the benefits of either, or does it not really matter.

Also, if tyres are being replaced, is any particular construction or type better than others. Assume that Tuffsaw blades were fitted to improve performance.

I've got bicycle inner tubes on my bandsaw. They work fine.
I can't see the thickness being an issue just as long as it doesn't slip.

Didn't know that Raleigh made bandsaws?

Sorry, couldn't resist that!

Just shows that even thinner rubber works. Thought there would have been some research as the thicker it is, the more 'elasticity' or 'bounce' there may be ?
