The blade tracking knob broke I could try gluing the bolts nut head back into the plastic, clamping it using all plastics super glue.
Though if that didn't workout could risk mashing up the bolt head nut and that would prevent me trying to remedy the problem another way. Draper sent me a replacement part, though refitting it doesn't seem....... so straightforward. Looking at the exploded diagram, the red arrow indicates the knob, there seem to be several washers and stuff. I asked Draper about fitting the replacement they said would ask their workshop, I've not heard anything back. Does anyone know if there is some type of suitable knob available I can fit over the bolts nut head that would serve as a replacement?
A long time back I read about making knobs on the pillar drill and putting inserts into them, perhaps might be an avenue to explore?
Or perhaps saw off a section of the original bolt, in the bandsaw and using some kind of coupler, fit the replacement knob to it?
Just out of interest, before I bought the bandsaw I asked if the flywheels were cast iron and was told by either Draper or the Ebay retailer..... yes they were, typical, I find out.... no their not. Couldn't find any emails about it and Ebay messages from retailer are deleted after a time, though perhaps are recoverable via Ebay, think will find out
Cast iron flywheels were a major influence on my purchase decision, the other machine I was considering was the Record Power BS400 with cast iron solid flywheels, though at 2hp not 3 like the Draper and the Record has a 300mm depth of cut where as the Draper has 250mm. Also the Record has micro adjust on the bearings, I'm beginning to appreciate the micro adjust..... is a distinct advantage.
Cheers people.

Cut the bolt head off and replace with a nut ? Then wind the nut nearest the body, up to the replacement knob. Threadlock in place.

Worth having a go at making your own. Cut out the knob from hardwood, buy some decent quality threaded inserts for hardwood. You haven't lost a lot if it snaps like a carrot. It is a high stress part of a bandsaw though, especially if you are tensioning a blade that's a bit too thick for the machine.

This is a bit embarrassing. I just chucked a rutlands jig handle on the belt sander as a temporary fix. 30 seconds work. But to be fair it works perfectly. I keep meaning to cut it down and do a better job on it so its neat and tidy but it works so well and life is too short.

#-o  :? :) :D 8)
Obviously this depends on your bandsaw having an allen key like bolt.... Otherwise I just showed my true colours again. (hammer)

Well I dunno truth be told. Its a close enough fit that its not wearing just from being ever slightly too small and being worn from friction so I'd guess it will hold up for as long as I need it. It could do with being done properly (which I will at some point :) ) but I'd lay my mortgage this fails before the Inca hardened bolt so I have no worries about messing the machine up. Just an idea as a quick fix and there's plenty more thread on it to redo it 4/ 5 times if it came to that when necessary. Tbh I'd guess doing it once to a good standard would do the job. I was just doing other stuff at the time. :D

Is it a standard part?

Try wixroyd or similar
I expect a lot of badged machines use the same knobs, if thats what you mean?

A standard part, is a standard range of knobs, handles, indexing pins etc. If you google standard parts you might find the part
