Hi guys,
I signed up as I need some advice. I'm looking to upgrade my bandsaw for cutting thick hardwood.
I've tried the BS250, which cut nice and square but was woefully underpowered.

I'm looking for something that can resaw hardwoods such as Ash and Mahogany in widths up to 7-8".

Does anyone have any recommendations for something suitable on a tight budget. I was looking at the Record BS350, but realistically my budget is £250-300.

I have the Scheppach Basa 3.0 (not the non-Basa version).

It is about £400.

750W motor, and with a sensible width blade I have done resaws on white oak of around 160-170mm.

Youll get nothing new for that money.
Even old but good machines are likely going to cost more.
rethink your budget upwards quite considerably if you want something that will work well without an overhaul.
