I have an AWSBS2 Bandsaw which I found virtually impossible to track tha blade correctly, 1/2 a turn on the tracking handwheel would send the blade from the back of the wheel to the front and then eventually jump off, then I tried Ian at Tuffsaws, those of you who use Tuffsaws blades can stop reading now because you know what's coming next, those members who haven't tried Tuffsaws read on.

I could never get a 1/2" blade to stay on the wheels, I contacted Ian by email, I told him what I wanted from the saw and he told me the size and type of blade I needed, a 1/2" 3-4 vari tooth, now having had problems in the past with a 1/2" blade I was sceptical, but as Ian knows his stuff I went along his suggestion, I managed to track the blade in seconds and it cut through 4" mahogany like a hot knife in butter.

I want to thank Ian because for his advice and a bandsaw blade that actually works!

A word of warning, I first tried to contact Ian via the link on his website, when I got no reply I contacted him via UKWorkshop, he is still having teething problems so if you don't get a reply straight away it may be worth ringing him or doing as I did.

Our Ian is a legend on this forum, helped loads of us and really is a top bloke...

I haven't tried Tuffsaws but I have had blade problems with my Elu bandsaw. I bought a blade from Scrawfox and it gave me trouble from day 1, although I didn't realise at the time that it was blade that was the issue. Then the blade broke and I replaced it with an Axminster Axcalibur blade - what a difference. I cut through 6" thick oak with ease - full capacity of the saw. I didn't much rate the bandsaw before, now I appreciate what it can do. Blades make a huge difference - obvious really.

I also used axminster blades but I found them hard to track the 1/2" blade just wouldn't stay on the wheels, Tuffsaws 1/2" blade is the exact opposite, I had no problems with tracking and it cuts very cleanly, I can recommend Tuffsaws, I won't be using anyone else for my bandsaw blades, plus Ian certainly knows his stuff.
