I could have chosen any cut line through this piece within a 5mm range but no, right down the middle where the nail is. Brilliant!

I ran a piece of timber with a staple at the end of it through the planer today, almost cried :(

What timber is that Steliz? Cherry?

Yes, Cherry. I've got a few big lumps of it and it all has this swirly grain pattern.

It is a pain when that happens. Surprised it finished the cut after the nail.
Anyhow I use this sharpening method. I saw the video a few years back and have been using it since then with great results. I get about 2 sometimes 3 sharpens out of a blade but after that the set starts to go.

Thanks for that, that's a great video, I'll give it a try. I have sharpened my blades with a dremel before but at 4tpi over 141" it's not a job I enjoy!
