Hi Guys,

I am looking to buy a band saw and have a budget of around £200 and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I would like to get one with a good fence and is quite quiet. Any help will be much appreciated.

James

HI James,
If your looking to buy new, the Perform CCBB is available
at just under £200. I have one of these, it has a cast iron table, cast
wheels, tracking and tensioning contols and is very quiet.
:( The fence is adequate but not marvellous, the plastic moulded
knobs are a bit nasty and the blade it comes with needs to be changed
immediately!
:D As a light use band saw i am very happy with it for under £200.

Hope this is of some help

James,

Good as the Perform maybe for the money it may also be a good idea to check out used BSs. Say a 2/3 yr old EB 315 or something similar. Shouldn't cost you much more than £150 odd. For instance in the current GWW there's a Kity 613 (generally perceived to be very good) for £200 with mobile base and 100mm extraction. (Shropshire 01694 723821). And another Kity in Kent. Anyways, have a good look around in the classifieds etc.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at the CCBB but axminster seem to have put their prices up recently.

Noel, do you have the phone number of for the person who is selling the Kity in Kent.

Thanks
