Bamboo

I'm trying to source some bamboo. I can find flooring or veneer, but I need some long lengths. To lip chunky shelves.

Any suggestions?

Specialist garden centres stock bamboo up to a diameter of about 6" , I used some a few years to make a storage case for a pair of handmade salmon rods which was were sent out to Japan.

Just been looking through your website - beautiful work!

I am looking for Bamboo already veneered into square edged 'timber'. But I am intrigued, how did you go about processing it from the raw form?

B&Q have a special on Bamboo flooring, the strips are in 3ft lenghts and about 15mm thick. A box of 1m Sq is on sale at £15.

Thanks for the tip, I'd considered using flooring but really need continuous length of over 2m for this project. In the end I proposed using oak (quite a close colour match to the bamboo in question) but I think my price was too high and I never heard back!
