Just spotted these on toolstation -

Theyre only 100mm, but less than £3 each.

Everyone always seems to go for the Irwins, which are 150mm, but pretty much double the price -

Anyone got anything bad to say about the Bahcos?

Bacho... That's the Scandinavian brand...

Photo shows BABCO? Sound alike name hoping for a confusion purchase? :)

Only one letter different but just to point out these are Babco, not Bahco, clamps (Bahco stuff is orange and usually pretty good quality).

EDIT: Bodgers can type faster

These are generic asia manufactured things by the look. Cost about a quid each over there. They're perfectly OK for small money but not terribly strong. The advantage is they are small and light weight so if you need to put a half dozen clamps on something small for glueing these have a place. The plastic is somewhat bendy.
I would class these as a cheap and inferior alternative to the little 6 inch brass bar clamps sold by such as lee valley and axminster.

They are identical to the Lidl clamps, which I’ve broken four of. There is a post on here which is in general pretty derisory about them.

It seems like no matter what mid priced to cheap quick clamp I buy they seem to break eventually. I'm sure if you bought a premium one it would be better.

I actually use these Bessy Klikamps where I would of used one of these before. They are really light and handy and are holding up a lot better than a cheap quick clamp:

I’ve got some Bessey Duoklamps and Klicklamps, they are great and bought at a discount at Woodworking Shows.

Speaking of the Irwin quick clamps. I have loads and love them. But the last lot I have bought (from a few different places) have all come with the hard black plastic tips, not the soft yellow rubber ones. I find the yellow ones to work better. It's rather annoying, seeing as they're always yellow in the pictures. :(

Edit : I really should google before posting.

The 12" Irwins are pretty cheap whenever they are on special offer at Screwfix, so I often top-up. I have two unbranded cheapies: one broke under no pressure and the other I don't trust.

Many years ago I spilt a 10 pack of those metal one handed clamps that use the mechanism from a sealant gun with a mate. They've held up well for cheap gear and they are stupidly convenient for quickly gripping planks and sheet down onto the benchtop or workmate.

Though I just bought a couple more of the lightweight Irwin clamps while they're on sale (again), I agree that the hard black plastic jaws they now come with aren't as friendly as the original yellow ones.
