Hi everyone!
in a few months I am to become a grandfather and there is much excitement in the camp! seamstresses and knitters are hard at work and i foolishly joined in the activity by offering to build a cot.
Plans and design I have now sorted but a source for all the hardware has eluded all my searches as yet.

Can anyone help with sources for spring bases and the associated hardware please.

Regards

Robbie

Hi Robbie. Welcome to the forum.
Congratulations on grandparenthood!

Nothing immediately comes to mind for the cot. Could you tell us what other hardware you need - might have better luck then!

Robbie,

Welcome to the forum. I believe I've seen a few posts on cots, and so its worth a search.

See

A bit about finishes here:

I'm sure someone posted a really good thread but I can't find it no matter what combination of words I put into the search facility.

I'd start with

Isaac Lord

for hardware - just type it into google and it should take you to their site. It's packed with all the widgets and hardware you can't find anywhere else!

Robbie,

I built a cot a couple of years ago, the design and all the associated hardware came from Rockler (www.rockler.com) but the shipping was EXPENSIVE! At the time I could not find a source closer to home.

I wish I had photos now - the couple I built it for emigrated to Japan, and I have a distinct feeling the cot ended up in a skip - waste of good timber, lesson learned, don;t build gifts for people who won't appreciate them!

Of course being for your grandchild that's different.
