I shouldn't worry about it. Even the EU are not daft enough to think that the Ukraine crisis could be solved by bombing Cornwall.

It's more likely that the US is trying to bluff Putin along by moving some airplanes about a bit, rather as he did with his 'military exercise' near the Ukranian border. All part of the chess game.

I feel cheated, I was expecting a thread about Love Shack and Rock Lobster!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I am actually quite surprised that B52s are still in service, they must be getting a bit long in the tooth nowadays.
Last year, not long after the Middle East started kicking off we had a whole heap of Apache Gunships go over ours on the way somewhere. As CheshireChappie says, I shouldn't worry, they are probably just making some noise to look like they are doing something.

A few months before the first Gulf War I remember flying into Preveza airport in Greece (which at the time was a military airport) and seeing it stacked to the perimeter fence with all sorts of military aircraft. No need to guess that the Gulf war would start soon.

We are being pretty spineless over The Ukraine. I also have to express an interest as I am half Ukrainian on my mother's side and I fear for the country. Russia was at great pains, when being urged to support UN action for the people fighting Assad's regime, to say that no-one should interfere with the internal affairs of another country. F*****g hypocrites.

Might do it to get rid of the pasty though :)

That's it, I've been walking past the UKIP shop in our town and saying "b****y nutters", but if the EU are getting rid of the pasty then I'm joining tomorrow!!

How many B52s would it take to blow up one pasty ?

It'd probably depend on whether it was fresh from a bakery, or from a motorway stop-over. One 500lb HE for the former, several bunker busters if it's a week old Ginster's from Toddington Services.

+1 =D> =D> =D>

If we could devise some way of launching pasty pastry, it would fetch a few aircraft down I shouldn't wonder. Real tooth-breaking 'clacker'..
