Hi All,
I have an Axminster Plus 4300, which since new has made a loud droning noise only when the off button is pressed, I contacted Axminster to be told that this is normal and is the brake in the motor so I lived with it assuming it was normal but I am now wondering if what they said was true?

It is really quite loud and last for about 5-10 secs my friend thinks it's wrong, does anyone on here have the same or a similar saw that could tell me if a loud noise on pressing the stop button is normal?

If it’s single phase it may also have a centrifugal switch for the capacitors which also make funny noises on run down.
