Hello,

I'm considering buying/making a drill table similar to the one shown here on axminster:
http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ax ... rc=froogle

The problem is, My drill table has no slots or center hole, hence why I am keen to get a replaceable top for it! But I'm wonderting if there's a clever way to fix it to my table without drilling and tapping holes I can then counter sink some bolts into?

Make a lipped frame on the underneath of the new table top so that you can slide the top onto the existing table from the front, the lippings underneath holding it in place and preventing it tipping off of the existing table ?

Cheers, Paul

The table on my drill isn't like the normal "slab" tables, the bottom isn't parallel with the top so that wouldn't work unfortunately.

I was thinking of sandwiching the drill table between the new top and battons of hardwood using screws but the fact the bottom is curved/shaped means they would slip.

Might just be easier to drill through the table then, cast iron should be quite easy to drill, just make sure you avoid any thicker webs underneath. No need to tap the holes, just put bolts through with nuts and washers on the underside ?

Probably less hassle than trying to figure out a different way !

Cheers, Paul
