what about a batten on wall and a cable slanted backwards towards batten on the roof at the front?
not sure why it needs to be that high
Steve

just a thought, if u wall mount it will need to be sidewards as the air \ dust passes thru filter and exits at the back

didnt realise its meant to be 2m from floor, definately wont be that high, its more likely 6'6" but because its 300mm tall then at that height the top of the filtration unit hits the roof of the workshop and that would then stop me being able to insulate that big area of the ceiling, thats why i was thinking of screwing it sideways on the wall but wasnt sure if the motor would work on its side.

Thanks never saw that. well I guess 180cm is close enough to 2mtrs.

Not sure what to do now, may have to look for something smaller or just do the roof around this unit.

I have a Record one and the recommended height is 2.1 mts, which mine is but i have seen them in other workshops on walls lower down. I think some people put them directly behind certain machines like lathes, though i don't know if this affects performance or not.

Looking at the manual - https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... izLfPy8fWw -

You can mount it horizontally or vertically and there are brackets available to mount it on the wall (pics in the pdf)

It does say ... "If ceiling mounted, bottom of air cleaner must be at least 7 feet above the floor".

Maybe it doesn't have to be that high on a wall then?

ok youre right the manual says Wall and my filter has the 4 angled brackets as shown in the manual so I will probably wall mount it then because that will be above the bench so no risk of banging it. Also Ive just measured and it will be about 195cm so close as damn it to 2 meters anyway so win win.

thanks guys.
