Daft question but how did you pack it and which firm did you use.

Thanks in advance,
Carl

I normally use UPS for anything over 10kg. As for packaging, 1/2" ply offcuts for top and base and pallet slats for the sides with a slat in the bottom to screw the vice down to.

I've never sent a vice, but I did once send a really bad habit.

The costume was terrible.

Parcel2go

Popped the vice into a heavy duty rubble sack, then again. Closed off with cable ties. Label taped onto the plastic sack. It ain't going to break.

P4D. I make a wooden box for things like a vice. Or a cardboard box for stuff that isn't so heavy.
They are reasonable and they pick up from you and deliver to recipient.
They charge by weight and the dimensions of the parcel. Hence a wooden box, which is easy to measure. Depending on the size of the parcel P4D decide on the carrier. But you are charged what they say in the first instance.

this will cost just under ten pounds with UPS and gets there the next day with there cheaper service, i charge £5.00 for making the box from scrap wood. so who ever buys it gets a good deal at £40.00
