Good evening ladies & gents

Just wondered if any of you folks were interested in adopting a Jointer. It's an old one but good one. Been with me for a few years now but recently I've started to specialise a bit more in Picture Framing (Which is going quite well), and I need the space in my 'undersized' Workshop to make way for a decent underpinner & mitre machine.

Did intend to throw it out, but I just couldn't bring myself to throw out a perfectly good machine, thats given me years of loyal service.

It's probably about twenty years old and was made by a company called Turner & odell www.btinternet.com/~mdashford/maker.jpg

It's a floor standing machine, and weighs a pigging ton! - I have added 4 decent nylon wheels to it, which does mean you can move it around the workshop quite easily www.btinternet.com/~mdashford/jointer.jpg

The bed is about 7" Wide so it's quite versatile www.btinternet.com/~mdashford/bed.jpg

I'm sure that anyone that's used such a machine would agree when I say that this is not an amateur tool ! - it was made in the days before guards, therefore you need treat the machine with a great deal of respect.

It has an 240v induction motor so is very quiet in use, it will run for hours on end, and when the blades are sharp, leaves a cracking finish.

I'm not looking for any payment, so if you can assure me that :-

1. You can provide a good home
2. You have a Van big enough to transport it
3. You don't mind driving to the Scottish Borders (1 Hour south of Edinburgh) (1 and a half hour north of Newcastle on Tyne)

It's yours !

I'm on holiday from my full time job for the next 10 days so please get in touch a bit quick ! As I'll have 10 glorious days in the workshop

Regards

Martin

I was all ready to make you an offer when I got to the bit about you being in the Scottish Borders

Sadly a trip from Kent is not going to be viable

Best of luck finding a new home though, I hate to throw away anything that still works too!

Steve

Yes Morph,

I would certainly like to take you up on your offer. How far are you from Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire?

All the best

Hi Mike,

You might be too late, somebody sent me a private message on Sunday asking about it. If they don't show up I'll certainly be back in touch.

Regards

Martin
