Hi everyone,

So just completed another rocking horse for a customer and have started wondering if perhaps I could start selling plans online (via Etsy or eBay) for others to build these. Seeing it as a bit of a potential "earner" on top of what the customer has paid and was just wondering if anyone had any luck with selling their own plans online at all.

Yes, I sell PDFs through my Etsy; I’m not big on plans, generally, so didn’t bother for a long time, but it’s become a nice little separate revenue stream, which is - apart from the few numpty’s who struggle with the overall ‘download’ concept - largely a passive income generator. I do have the means to drive traffic to Etsy through my YouTube and Instagram, but a surprising amount (25-30%) comes through people just browsing Etsy. So well worth doing IME, yes.

Sounds good idea.

You could sell them at different price points. .

Pdf, paper plans, even a kit of parts.... Many boat designs are sold as such.

Cheers James
