Tree surgeon friend is dropping a big yew tree in the next few weeks, would anyone be interested in some? Pick up from south Leics area if so - I'm not posting it!

I'll see what I can do - what sort of size chunks are you guys after? I'll try and get a selection!

I don't have a specific project in mind - I've never had any Yew to work so anything that is available will be very welcome.

So this is now on my drive, along with a load of more sensibly sized bits! Took 3 of us to lift it into the van. I'll upload a pic of the smaller bits tomorrow when it's light and if anyone is still interested, give me a shout!

This is the pile I have, if anyone does want some, let me know. I've just invested in an electric chainsaw so I can chop them down to any size you want!

Finally got all of the heap logged up, sealed and stacked in my garage. Then I realised how much room it took up so I've invested in a warehouse style cage trolley and stashed it all at work!

You can just see the big slabs at the bottom, the largest is pretty much the width of the trolley by about 5" thick. We're gonna need a bigger bandsaw!
