What's the story with the bloke that looks like he was just parachuted in from a 70s? Moustache and side burns etc and what's his relationship with the girl who lived with the addict?

Brother and sister, I think. He called her "sis".
I don't know where he fits in to the rest of the plot.

Thanks Steve, saw/heard that when they compared scars/tattoos when he was lifting her out of the water but wasn't sure if he was being truthful.
Good show I thought and great pair of characters in the two detectives.

I just caught the end of it and it looks interesting. For those who may be interested it is repeated (shock, horror!) on two nights during the week, from memory - mon/tues or tues/weds? bbc4.

Juries out here. I like it but SWMBO doesn't. Lacks the subtlety of The Killing ..also the complex plot..but might improve. Characters are a bit two-dimensional.

The DC just watched the second episode on her iPad.

I saw them when they were transmitted and was forbidden to make a noise during the iPad 'performance'.

Really enjoying it so far, although it's about time they made use of the multi-language features of Freeview, by making a dubbed version available. It's not that I particularly like dubbing, but I use my TV 'watching' time to mend electrical things, etc., and I can't do that and read the subtitles simultaneously!

Didn't see that...'Silent Witness' night...and again tonight - Rob
Ah yes, I was glued to the box watching Silent witness last night....and will again tonight. Great series. :D

We like it - have become avid Scandinavian TV and books fans.
Quite a complex plot and will probably take a few weeks to get really into it.
The Dane is supposed to be typically laid back and the Swede typically all go. Cannot understand that they have not used the word Aspergers yet?
Cannot make out if the mysterious man is a heavy or a Social Worker?
The girl is his Sister who has been poisoned by the Killer.
Much more raunchy than SW which can be ponderous at times - better if they left these personal side plots out. Also why are Pathologists acting as SOCOs?

I was enjoying it by the time it got to half way through the second episode. Not as absorbing yet as the first The Killing. I too hav become a bit of Scandinavian crime fiction fan. I've been enjoying the Jo Nesbo books from Audible - read really well so I recommend them as well.
Having said The Bridge hasn't gripped me as much as The Killing, I am keen for Saturday to come....

Saga is certainly got a few behavioural oddities, Aspergers does indeed come to mind, especially after the ambulance incident on the bridge. But good mix between her and Rohde.

Think Stefan seems to be more of a social/community worker, he picked up a file/photo of his sister in an office.
With his looks he wouldn't be out of place in an 80s porn flic (so I'm told.....).

It's a good show, not unlike Spiral.

Look forward to future instalments.

And detectives, with more access/credence than a pathologist would be likely to be given I think. Still, it passes a couple of hours.

Bit too bleak for us. The storyline is pretty thin. Sledgehammer approach...why don't they have a flashing subtitle..she has Aspergers.. Nowhere in the same league as The Killing or Borgen. You could see that the wine left in the box was poisoned...so bleedin' obvious. Who in their right mind goes round leaving full boxes of wine unattended outside properties at night?

The social worker...same needle tracks on his arm or maybe it's a tattoo, whatever,as the topless druggie.....Alert ..alert..alert...maybe they are related in some way...well, waddyaknow?

I think this was intended for the American market. They need 'simple'

Apart from that, I like the colour in the photography.

But if it was just about a pathologists day to day work it wouldn't make entertainment! After all that's what its about entertainment. Much better than the usual 'Talent' shows they seem to flood the TV with now.

Well yeah, I realise that but.... sometimes they stretch its credibility a tad too far for me. The program's been going for a long time, I can still remember a young Amanda Burton, and was entertaining enough without having the main characters being Pathologist, CSI (what they like to be called these days apparently?) Detective, Judge, Jury, Tortured Soul... etc. etc.

Why is it in all our crime programmes that the SOCO's are dressed head-to-toe in white paper suits and yet in CSI (not that I watch it, you understand) they walk around in Armani?

Interesting episodes last night. Is the forgetful samurai sword wielding space cadet a student of TT? Is Anya safe staying with him and what's her role in future episodes?

Martin and Saga seem to be developing their characters well. Well, apart from Martin's bloodied crotch.....
And what about Martin's son, the "gardener"? And the disgraced cops going to trial? So many questions...
Enjoying it all so far.

Yep, got to admit I have been catching up with it since the comments on here. Totally engrossing. What a strange bunch of characters, What is wrong with Saga...she's a strange one? Great series so far. :D
