It normally goes out first to those people who have recently bought something too.
Ah yes. I tried that last year. Didn't work. :( I have a theory it depends more on how much you've bought from them. No evidence to back it up of course, except maybe the rabid L-N plane orderer in Bonny Scotland already having his... Oh dear. In that case I probably sharn't get a copy untill late October. Memo to self: must buy more from Axminster than just show tickets and Webrax...

Cheers, Alf

Alf,

Only if the how much parameter applies only to the last month or so - I am quite sure my total purchases from Axminster mean the only thing they drink down there is champagne!

Well, mine arrived today and I'm not too local to Devon. Did ring last week to find out when I can expect it and was told mid September.....And I haven't bought anything for some months. Maybe they just run down the postcodes as I'm BT.....who knows?

Ian... Mike... you guys gonna stand for this...????

I think our postman delivers every other day? perhaps the postman reckons he can deliver by 9 am if he only delivers once a week.

This could be the reason I have not got my catalogue in Torbay.

Well, I hope you've all placed your orders for Rojek's stuff!
Who hasn't got about £30,000 to spend on new tools  :?:

Yeah....a four sided planer wouldn't really be much fun.....

hmm, well, i received a delivery from Axminster on Friday (yes, a nice new LN #9 :D ), and no new catalogue in the box...odd - they coulda saved themselves some postage.

Ne'er mind...can't afford anything new now anyway

Well mine arrived today much to the dissappointment of SWMBO, i could feed suger lumps to her with the face she has on her a present, Red Rum hasnt a look in she hates it when it comes and shes computer illiterate thankfully

they seem to be quite expensive, comparing them with some rutlands stuff particularly the festool, their prices would be easily beaten with a local supplier. I like the look of the new spindle moulder though with the tenon carriage and sliding table but they are extras.

Dissapointed that the router jigs and accesories hasnt increased much, i was hoping they would increase their range here with a few more bits and pieces. Maybe a router raizer or various sized T track but nope

Still a bit of a bible though as its great for comparing machine HP's etc whether its trade or proffesional rated, i do like that and have compared a lot over the years so i'm glad they've stuck with this.

Ian

Got to concur Ian, Axminsters machinery prices are not hard to beat, on like for like my local suppliers win hands down. That and my fear of buying something and then having to return it for whatever reason keeps me local. What I do find waaay too handy is the various more specialised bits and bobs that simpily aren't available this side of the Irish sea. And I've always been happy with their customer care when the knob on a widget arrives broken etc.

some of their handtool prices have been getting OTT recently too - for example, I recently picked up a Nobex Champion mitre saw from Isaac Lord for £10 less than the APTC list price, and it came with a second blade thrown in...

Although it is nice to walk into a serious tool shop with the Axminster catalague in your mitt, see what discount you can get hehe

I've never found a supplier with the best prices on everything, in any market each supplier tries harder in some sectors than others. Having said that, I just got a Festool Plunge saw and guide rails for about 15 quid less at APTC than Rutlands, so go figure. Thats with free next day delivery, that arrived at the same time as the dispatch notice email!! :D

There's definitely some rather interesting stuff in the new catalog and its nice to see that much of the new for 2005 stuff is already in stock, e.g. the 5pc woodscrew remover kit I threw in to the Festool order.

Joy!

Yay. It's come. Lost my bet... I couldn't honestly manage to get excited about anything though. Gawd, that's sad. And I'm still so young...

Cheers, Alf
