Hi all,
Someone posted a link to this router a while ago, and I have read some positive reviews online. I tend to avoid Clarke tools having had some pretty poor quality stuff in the past, and I have generally regretted buying anything branded Clarke. However I am trying to keep an open mind, especially considering the positive reviews.

So, has anyone bought one, and what is the general opinion? Worth getting? Worth avoiding? It would be for DIy use, probably hand held and in a table, but I want a tool that will last.

I don't see the point in buying a Makita (although I really like Makita) if this will do the job perfectly well. On the other hand, I am quite prepared to pay the extra to get a tool that will last.

Wrong forum for this but....

If you want a plunge router that doesn't cost too much then the Lidl or Aldi ones that come up periodically on promotion are worth considering. The no-quibble returns policy of Lidl/Aldi will stand you in good stead if it there's a problem early on.

I think they are generally less powerful than the CR2 (last one I clocked was closer to 1000W than 2000W) in case that's a factor, but they're considerably cheaper.
