Any idea what wood this is made from?

I have been given an old wooden canoe in need of restoration, there is some planking that is going to need replacing, so I am trying to work out what wood it is constructed from I was told it was mahogany, but I am fairly sure that it isn't I am guessing it is some form of cedar. Any ideas?

Mahogany was used a lot in boat building in the past, but you need to get a better picture to ID this.
