I've been buying and selling on Amazon for years.

Today I received an email from Amazon that

Additional information is required for your Selling on Amazon payment account.

I duly went to complete this but crikey the information they require is huge - down to passport details! I didn't bother!

Anyone else had a similar email?

Nope. I've never sold on Amazon. Don't think I will start to either.....

I found I could get a much better price for used books on Amazon than anywhere else.

But I'll not be continuing with them.

I believe it's a tax thing - it's the same with virtual worlds, anyone who cashes out more than a few hundred dollars a year is now required to give a load of personal details as well.

Sounds dodgy. Have you checked with Amazon that it's legit, and not a phishing mail?

First thing I did was to log into my Amazon Seller account to check - yes, it's legit.

Wow. I don't think I'd be too comfortable with that info request, either. Not with the amount of data breaches that appear to be happening nowadays.
