I know Am-Tech are not the Rolls Royce of tool suppliers but when using a new 10mm bit to install a wall bracket for a television, I noticed that the third hole looked smaller than the first two. I checked and the tip had disappeared and the helix part of the bit had started to wear into a tapered point. I was drilling through plaster, cement render and Thermalite block. The bit must have been made of cheese.

Wait! what? Are you telling me there is something WORSE than silverline????

Am-tech are usually bad tools, one off job at best. That being said though, their big jaw adjustable spanner/pipe wrench is superbly made and an absolute bargain.

Some things like drills and Allen keys I would never buy cheap.

Not saying for one moment that they're a good brand, but I've got a set of Amtech step drills and they're actually not bad at all!

I've had a set of Am-Tech files for years... Nowt wrong with 'em.

for removing the backs of watches. it's a ronseal tool, does what it says on the tin. :)
3 sets of pins, easy adjustment in 2 planes with 1 hand.
