You get a superb edge on freshly broken glass. I used to use glass knives for cutting tissue sections for the electron microscope. The sections were around 5 Angstroms (50 nanometres) thick. Not a very durable edge though, easily chipped and, because glass is technically a liquid, the edge would dull by the material "flowing" away from the edge.

ps. glass has largely been replaced with diamond knives...wonder how long it will take LN to get round to diamond edged chisels :lol:
