I have a jet air cleaner, I have had it for 3 months now and very impressed with its efficiency. I only do scroll saw work but this creates a lot of dust. When I first got the air cleaner I fitted the filters but the one on the front was a bit of a loose fit and when all the clips were in place I had up to 10mm gaps in places so I taped over the gaps making it air tight. About once a week I use my shop vac to clean off the dust on the filter. My question is. Am I doing this the right way. I cannot see the need to replace the filter when it looks okay when I have cleaned it. Comments would be very welcome.

You are certainly not doing any harm in vacuuming the filter. I have been doing this for a few years now and only change the filter when the inside face gets very dirty. It also pays to vacuum the fine filter once in a while to keep it dust free.
Frank.
