Hi guys

A nephew has a (large) office type desk that he's managed to get some water marks on.

It's made from MDF with a very thin layer of veneer laminated onto it.... the veneer only looks to be in the region of 0.5mm

I reckon sanding is out due to the 'thinness' of the veneer...

A quick google has come up with... white toothpaste, mayonnaise, and even peanut butter left over night... yum yum

Any other 'home-made' remedies i can try for him..?

Cheers guys

Nick

See Richard's reply to the the post "Help With Repair Please".

You're spot on with your veneer assessment, commercial veneer is almost always about 0.6mm when laid, and subsequent sanding normally takes it down to 0.3-0.5mm, so there really isn't much left to play with which means sanding is an absolute last resort after all else has failed!
