Hello can anyone help with some advice on hooks.

I have been stumped looking for 2 types and wondered if there is a good supplier of a wide range or a guide on UK names for various hooks.

I want to find a small screw in type hook for a project but all I can find have a screw shaft a little to long or the hooks used in net curtains.

Another project I want to do would need some hooks the curve underneath the project and screw in at the back. Therefore the top part of the hook would need to be very flat so as not to raise the back of the project. Someone on an American forum recommended robe hooks but they don't sit flat.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

A screw shaft that's a little too long is easily shortened with a hacksaw, file or grinder, sander even ?

The robe hooks, if we're thinking of the same thing, could also be flattened with a file or grinder etc.

Other than that I think Isaac Lord do a pretty comprehensive range of fittings, not to overlook places like Screwfix and Toolstation also.

Cheers, Paul

Have a look at 'Cup-Hooks'. They come in differing sizes, and finishes. There is also a straight pattern, (L - shaped. Used on their 'sides', they're good for shelf supports btw!)
