Hi Mods,

If we use the link to the sites on the side bar on the right hand side, do ukw get a kick back?

The reason I ask is that I was looking to buy a roughneck loggers mate and having researched t'web, the tool.net advert now appears here, so if ukw gain, then I'll go via this link.

Greg

I asked the same question a while back but got no useful answers, I use an adblocker so don't see any ads, but would be happy to unblock this domain if there was a benefit to the site.

Like most forums that allow adverts, it will use google adsense. Which uses your browsing history to customise any ads you see to similar items you have browsed. So as you have found out that searching for a bar has given you more adverts for the same.

You can do a simple test and search for various items and google will offer suggestions not long after.

As to unblocking ads, i think it only helps if you click on a link. Just seeing an advert won't do much. ;)

Hi Carl,

Yep, thanks - I got that - I was just interested to know if ukw will benefit from clicking through this site - Any ideas, folks?

Oh well - no reply, :? so just went ahead and ordered. Be nice to know though, if the forum can benefit, as we all benefit by it being here.

They won't get extra money from you using google adsense ads, which is what they use. However if you're using the ads, then it's useful in terms of keeping the ads going and useful.

It's not an Amazon affiliate link for example.
