If you have a tame plumber, ask him to keep you any old compression fittings - they look quite different and neat (imo
, of course). I had to do a tidy job with this one as the A.I. 12mm continental pattern gouge was a Xmas present from my daughter. An offcut of oak (the hardest piece of oak I've ever come across ) and a used nut, and job done.
