Thought this was interesting

Was in Denver Colorado and needed to do some work on my sisters new house, but had no tools found this place on the internet. it has a wood shop, metal shop, auto shop and cncs for you to play with i payed 20 dollars for an hour and just had to sign my life away didn't wanna know if i knew what i was doing :) but if I lived their i would definitely pay the 100 a month to use as much as i liked.

The only thing i didn't like was no rifing knife on the table saw or blade cover. I got my first C cut on my last panel i was slicing took my eye of the piece for a second turning off the saw and it just caught the piece as the saw was turning off and ruined my spare piece ( luckily the spare and not my hands) but a rifing knife that doesn't extend over the height of the blade never gets in the way i don't understand why u wouldn't have one.

Heres the link if ur curious http://www.clubworkshop.com/

Regards Rick

From the title I was thinking cycle powered bandsaw, pit-saw weight bench etc.  :D

sorry more on the line of membership not having to but ur own equipment! that way its like a GYM u might be onto something create skinnyer woodworkers

That's a great idea.

There are Hackspaces: http://hackspace.org.uk/view/Main_Page dotted around the country, and I visited the Hackney branch once. However, it was more electronics based, with few working metalworking facilities, and even fewer wood tools. If something like that sprung up near me, I'd sign up in a heartbeat, as I'm struggling to think of a way to get a planer/thicknesser, bandsaw and table saw into my workshop:

It's interesting - There's one in Bristol, but nowhere near as well equipped - and £300 PM membership to boot

far as I can tell it's been sat empty and unused for months now according to their online booking calendar.

I've just sent them a headsup email with that link saying maybe if they dropped their prices, they might actually get some income from the workspace. I've got a whole bunch of wood I ideally would like to resaw on a bandsaw, but can't justify the £60 initial cost they charge.

Am moving to denver on a 12 month Graduate visa so will join! might build them a rifing knife on their metal work cnc as i wouldn't use their saw as it was the other tools looked good tho and i was the only one in their at the time i used it the metal and car shop look more busy. had a good atmosphere tho it seemed and laid back.

Think health and safety could ruin it here.
