A tenner!

Dear god that seems like outstanding value, it looks pretty heavy duty.

Will you be posting before and after pics?

Ten quid is expensive for me. I have two of the above (anarchist style) that cost me nothing.

Yes I'll be doing a WIP when I decide what I'm doing with it.

Its completely useless to me as it is.

Nice one mr P, I'm dying for a anorchists chest myself, I'm allways on the look out.

Glifton green, what's that?!?

Now you've passed your test I'm sure you will find one nice and cheap and stuffed with some great tools.

Failing that make one at college, I'm sure the Mrs won't mind as they do make great Coffee tables.

Its like Cliftons, only, a shade more 5hite. Think of graphite...

:)

Tbh I would rather build one but I lack the technical skills right now, all in good time. I think I prefer a cabinet to a chest anyways.

I beg to differ about your lack of technical skills Toby...from what I've seen of late..I think you'd make an excellent chest.

Whether it's actually what you really wanted can only be determined once you build one and use it....I'm not convinced these are not more suited to being rustic coffee holding devices.

Surely a suggestion to the tutor at some time in the course would only bring encouragement to build one as a project. Seems like a plan to me.

I had four like the blue one all made by me, dovetailed and so on. I had to move house, got seriously short of space so they had to go - I wasn't working anywhere other than home. I couldn't get £3 each for them at two car boots, so I cut them up and burned them.

Chris Schwartz has made a DVD on the construction of a plywood Anarchists tool box. Held together with drywall screws and glue. In other respects it's the same as the one in the book, minus dovetails. Seems quite adequate to me; for an amateur worker who isn't really going to trundle the box here there and everywhere. Or onto a yellow submarine for that matter! I think it's available via the Popular Woodworker site.
