Cos the old one was past saving!
Thought you might like to see what I've been up to! making and fitting a replacement bridge to span a mill race in a private garden.
Really just a like for like replacement but with a few extra halving joints thrown in for good measure and used stainless steel bolts and coach screws instead of the iron ones on the original, the timber is of coarse Green Oak but I gave it a quick sand down to remove the worst of the black marks and then a coat of Linseed oil thinned down with clear wood preserver mainly with the intention to help stop it drying out to quickly in this weather!
Before I started
Delivering the ready made up in the workshop kit
After the old one's out of the way.
Starting to put it all back together again. Two 9" x 6" x 11' beams in green Oak = back ache
All finished!
And well happy clients too!
