A look back in time for pattern making

This week a job I made well over 25 years ago came back, can you store this for me for a few weeks?

Well this is a plug of a large clock face, 1.3m accross, there was a wind direction face that you could swap over for the clock originally but that seems to have been lost.
It is my first and only go at making a plug for sand casting in aluminium, it was to be used to cast two clock faces and one wind direction for a tower on a stable block for a large country house/ estate.
Can you spot the old feature? Not an error!

A bit irregular to have 4 as IIII, rather than IV, but 9 as IX, not VIIII ?

No, it's a copy of the original very old one.

Er just a minute.

The clock had no minute hand only an hour hand so the divisions are in fact the quarter hours. But well spotted.

You swopped over the faces in the plug before you made the sand mould.

it's very nice. maybe it should be hung on the wall as modern art. an introspective view on the fact that time is a myth and we are all here for an trivial amount of time, blar balr blar, .

we are on to you now, trying to steal our time. 24 minutes a day, yer no one will notice, you'll be asleep for it anyway, it soon adds up, admit it, your really 100's of years old but you've stolen all that time with you diabolical plan and look 24 still.
