Well that's another hour of my life gone and what a fascinating way to spend it!! I have been a McLaren fan for quite a while now, no wonder they have got such a lovely car. Want one!!!

One thing about the video is that I couldn't get rid of the links to other videos and found it quite annoying to see them all the time.

There's a McLaren showroom about 15 miles from me in Knutsford. Very posh area, it used to be a Rolls Royce showroom, there's an Aston Martin showroom in the same village. I went in the McLaren place with my son for a nosey and took some pictures of an F1 car they have in there, but sadly can't find them now to add to this.

EDIT: 3 Views of the same building from different places on the adjoining roundabout taken from google maps, all at the same time....weird!!!

I don't think Aston Martins sell Austins? :)

Rod

Haha! Well spotted. Corrected it now.
I'd just been reading the bizarre coincidences thread about the chap called Austin.

I saw this docu when it was on tv - fascinating. When I was working in London the McLaren F1 car was released, so I hopped over to Knightsbridge where there was a showroom - they even let me inside, even though it was a buzzer entry only. I remember distinctly walking over to an engine that was on display seperately - it was enourmous - I'd never seen a car engine so big, it looked so technological, which it obviously was, like part of a spaceship. The highlight of that, and a moment I'll never forget, was they let me sit in one - the attending staff were justifiably very proud of it and were more than happy to talk about it even to a young bloke like me that obviously could not afford to buy one, they gave me some of the brochures etc that I still have today. Ferrari dealers by comparison are stuck right up their own arses and wouldn't even let me in the door - for that reason alone I'd never buy a Ferrari even if I won the lottery.

Edit - what a coincedence the next poster in this thread is me - Austin :)
