A first shooting board

I've just started a beginner course for woodworking to guarantee that I actually spend some time each week doing something instead of flopping down at the end of the day exhausted. It's been great so far. One of the things I've found a bit irritating though is planing end grain. I understand that this is made easier by using a shooting board. Can anyone point me in the direction of a design for a first shooting board - I've got a little confused by the variety of designs I've seen on the web.
