The first bowl is a piece of coloured maple, I knew it would be a challenge to get something out of it due to the shape and bark inclusions, and it very nearly ended up on the firewood pile ! Decided to go with it though as the figure and colouring was really nice, and just accept the hole and inclusions as just some more features !

The next is some olive ash, unfortunately when I cut the blank about twenty years ago I didn't manage to centre the coloured heartwood, but still turned out nice :)

Then another walnut bowl and lastly ash again.

All treated with tung oil so can be used for food, salads, fruit etc, although the holey one might be a challenge for some stuff ! :)
