Take a look at the Vendee Globe 2020 boats - most of the boats in this Single Handed round the world race which started a couple of weeks ago are using foils. There is a great set of Youtube videos by Alex Thompson, a british skipper who has had to reinforce his boat which was starting the crack up - in the middle of the Doldrums (I think) off Brazil - these boats are entirely built of carbon fibre, so not simple to fix. Even more amazing is his ability to record videos while doing it. Alex Thomson Racing

These aerofoil super aerodynamic boats are truly amazing. Very beautiful.

I wonder what they will be like in a heavy sea.
