So at last we have finished this kitchen. Due to lockdowns, client having new build issues, supply problems the kitchen has taken 11 months!!! Finished today. The island is solid pippy oak cut from one slab each side to keep the grain flowing. 30 mm splines in drawer corners. Pippy oak end panels. 2mm stainless steel worktop on a pippy oak sub base, with a flush stainless steel hob. Sat on a black plinth.
The carcasses are quarter sawn oak veneers with Matt black doors farrow and ball pitch black. All push to open.
Corian worktop with moulded sink.
Done about 12 other kitchens whist this one has been ongoing.

Like that a lot Bob, lovely job, dunno if it the symmetry of finger joints but I do like the look of them on corner joints (y)

Great work of course. The cabinets are gorgeous, I love the clean lines. That island though is really ugly, looks half finished.

There splines Doug, wanted them a bit longer than a finger joint, 17mm drawers splines are about 30mm

Wow! How heavy are those draws? I'm assuming something as large as the central island is assembled on site?

That beautiful kitchen and they went with a gas hob!

Great work. Did you paint the doors or were they sent away? I did a couple in F&B Blue Ground Dead Flat last week, not sure how long it'll hold up though. Not sure if any additives or top coatings are used to protect the paint?

Pretty sharp - but not to my taste I'm afraid. The narrow rack on the inside of the cupboard door is a great feature (we have the ironing board in a rack on the inside of our pantry cupboard door - same concept)

Beautiful work @doctor Bob
Couple of questions if I may 🙂
Did you use veneered MDF or ply for the carcasses?
How did you go about fixing those solid pippy oak end panels on the island?
Cheers
Josh

That certainly is a stunning kitchen Bob, I love the contrast of the island against the black units.

I remember you making the drawers, think it was towards the end of first lockdown, seems an age ago.

It would be totally impractical in my house, there would be greasy, grubby, jammy handprints on all the doors from my 8 year old pushing them all to open when trying to find the chocolate biscuits.

Extraordinarily ugly

...........in a smaller room!

Wonderful in that space. And superb detailing and workmanship as usual.
Perhaps in my next life:D:D

Very nice job indeed, my entire kitchen is about the size of the island !

Love the Island and the moulded in sink, ( no draining board though) ,

What material is the worktop on the Sink run Bob...?

Nice matching colour on the Quooker as well 👍

Edit. Ooopppss,....failed to read all of your original post.....Brave choice of colour for that Corian worktop....

The corian is nocturne, I think it’s fairly new in the range.
