Hi
does anyone know where i can buy an 8mm collet for a makita 3612br router - it comes with a half inch collet. i want to use it in my woodrat and don't want to replace my 8mm dovetail cutters with a set of half inch ones - this will be far more expensive than a collet, i imagine...

thanks

Thanks, Chas
I'm a little concerned about using a sleeve as I have heard they can be rather dangerous - does anyone have any experience of using a sleeve they can reassure or scare me with?

Why not ask Trend if they have an 8mm sleeve for an 1/2" collet with a retaining circlip?

They do exist, I think Tony has one, cant remember which Router it was for.

I use sleeves all the time with my DeWalts and a Bosch and they are mostly fine as long as you use a decent one (eg from Trend or the router manufacturer). You sometimes see bright shiny ones in cheap Chinese bit sets, I would give those a miss personally.

BTW If anyone has taken Tony's advice and purchased the Triton, the Trend 8mm collet fits a treat
