Here are 4 3D or compound projects I made a few years ago. Do any of you do this kind of work? These pictures are not the best.

Hey Chris thanks, that sure made them look better. I need to learn how to do that.
Some of them are made from pine and some are walnut.

Hi Bob

I've never tried it myself but one day... :)

Yours look really good. Looking at them, I couldn't help but wonder if turners might find compound cuts like that a useful technique for removing excess wood and thus preserving their turning tools.

Gill (who's counted the number of piercing cuts on a certain Lion portrait pattern. 238! Only another 210 to go.)

You trying to rush me into getting my scroll saw, Gill?

Cheers,

Trev.

Awww shucks, Trev! You saw through my not-so-subtle plot :) .

Actually, I'm more concerned with making sure His Lordship doesn't get ideas and pinch my saw :-$ . His turning skills seem to be improving, but any technique that'll reduce the amount of time he has to spend sharpening his gouges will appeal to him. I think I'd better steer clear of scrolled compound cuts for the foreseeable  .
