I need to send the blade in my Bosch GCM 12 GDL gliding arm compound mitre saw off for sharpening. This is a 72 tooth Bosch blade tct 305 x 30 x 2.4mm.

I would like to stick a finer tooth blade in (for wood only) for a good finish and minimal break out and am looking for recommendations. On my radar are
Swedex which is 96 teeth, 3.2mm kerf. Slight negative rake. £117.
Bosch Z96 which is about £80 and will also cut aluminium- not sure who makes blades for Bosch.
Freud LP60M, 96 tooth. About £82.
Trend also do a pretty cheap 96 tooth blade for under £30 but I want lasting quality so wonder of this is false economy?

I will also be getting a blade with far fewer teeth for quick cuts.

Also any recommendations for blade sharpeners? I am in Kent near Tunbridge Wells.

Thanks, Adrian

The Swedex blades are excellent and are probably the best choice, but have you looked at CMT or OMAS? They both offer very good blades for not ridiculous money. I’ve got a 250mm 80T fine finishing CMT blade in the sliding mitre saw and the finish is like glass without tearing even still after a couple of years of pretty regular use.

They’re available at Scott and Sargeant.

Leitz in Essex do sharpening, and used by people on this forum.

I've not used them myself, but not heard anything negative about them.

FWIW I’ve been using some CMT orange chrome blades recently from Scott & Sargeant. Very quiet, cut well & a good price. Might be worth a look? Don’t know if they do mitre saw blades, but expect they do.

Thanks all. This place is brilliant. Trevanion, those brands were not in my mind so that is super helpful. Adrian
