OK! Executive decision made  .
A list of projects for the 2013 monthly Challenge. Some from Blisters original list, others from suggestions and one from me (dealers perks ) . A mixture of spindle and faceplate turning with no 'specialist' tools required, with a couple of open themed months to get the grey matter smoking. Hopefully there's something to keep everyone interested. Time will tell :)

Details etc to be confirmed as we go.

January - An acorn box
February - A pair of matching chess pieces
March - A supported bowl
April - Themed 'Outer space'
May - A table Lamp (electrics optional)
June - An animal
July - A finial box
August - A cup and saucer
September - An oriental rice bowl and chopsticks
October - Themed 'Delicate'
November - Salt and Pepper
December - A Christmas decoration

I can see me scratching my head a few times this year but look forward to the challenge..........

Well done Nev, something for everyone there, as for the newbies finding it daunting I think the best thing to do is keep it simple, looking through the list I can't see anything that should put anyone off.

I'm a newby! Had the lathe since Christmas.
I am sure that I will find these challenging, but that's the point (I am currently working out how to do lids so I can tackle the acorn box). The nice thing about this list is that it will force me to tackle new things and not simply repeat the things I can do.
Thanks for organising the challenges - I am looking forward to them (albeit with some trepidation!)

I'm new to this as well but fancy a go at most if not all of these.

The first month might be out more down to time rather than anything else but I'd hope to produce something for most months.

I haven't got time to commit myself to join in unfortunately but I will certainly follow the competition, curious how some of those projects will be interpreted.

Crikey, there's some tough ones in there, Nev!!

I'm up for the Challenge, as ever, but there may be some newbies who find the list a bit daunting!!

Nah! the majority of the items, if not all, can be made as simple or complex as one likes. (hopefully [-o< ) and when i make up the rules for each one i shall try and keep it like that :)

Thats the whole idea behind the challenge! Welcome on board  (coincidentally i had my lathe xmas 2010 and made my first entry in feb or march 2011, it certainly pushed me to try new things)

As a very part time turner some of these will definitely be challenging for me but that is not a complaint - looking forward to attempting these

Could this be made a sticky, please?

It already is a Sticky, it's in the help and information sticky thread at the top of this forum.
