So now i've got the tools, a Bandsaw, Lathe and Dust extractor.... i need some tips
After inheriting a Union Graduate lathe plus tools from my Dad i spent the past few weeks ruining some perfectly good blanks which came with it.
So now, after i have familiarised myself with the machine and how to make a block of wood into a blank, or even a shape that will hold an apple and an orange, i'm ready to learn the art of Precision Turning.
i have just been looking for someone who can show me where i am going wrong and cut down on the trial and error time.
i have a dream of semi retiring at the age of 50 or sooner and making enough money to pay the rent from my hobbies by selling my wares at fairs and of course on the tinterweb
so where to Begin?
can anyone recommend a good Tutor in my area? (East Sussex)
Cheers,
Bob Wood
