Can you link two identical 100mm chip collectors to a single 150mm inlet to extract from a single machine? (Using a 'Y' connector, 2x 100mm into 1x 150mm)

Also, could you fix a DX to a wall at 90 degrees, would it affect the impeller to operate from a horizontal axis?

I think not as 2 extractors wont be perfectly balanced so one will suck from the other!

As above. Also, you need to keep them vertical, as gravity is used to separate out the larger chips in most designs.

I've also read that running two extractors in parallel will cause them to compete with each other and not increase the suction.

Interestingly enough, you can apparently run them in serial (one extractor inlet attached to the outlet of the other) and get an increase in performance, but I don't think it's as efficient as just getting a single more powerful one

I'm sure I read somewhere that running them in series would lead to the motors running faster which could overheat them if they weren't rated to do that.

Possibly, but I'd have thought that if anything it would lighten the load on one of the motors, not increase it.

I think that's exactly the problem. The lightened load means that there is less resistance for the fan so the motor spins up much faster. Rather like a blocked hoover stops sucking air in and hence runs a reduced load (it's just turning the air in the fan around and not pulling any in and pushing it out) the motor runs much faster.

unless the extractor it designed for 2 feeds then i wouldn't recommend it, can get some good extractors at a pretty decent price though. Doesn't need to be very expensive
